OUR MISSION

It is the mission of The Hive Repertory Theatre to build a community of artists, students, and educators by providing unique and memorable entertainment and performance experiences while fostering appreciation for the arts in Effingham County and the surrounding areas.

MEET THE HIVE

Lisa Wood, Managing Director/Theatre
Picture
Lisa Wood loves imagining the worlds and developing the characters in the plays she produces and has staged dozens of shows since earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Jacksonville University in Theatre and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of North Florida.
Lisa has a million miles of imagination and a thousand shows she can't wait to produce.  She has been playing pretend in the theatre since accidentally spitting a wad of chewing gum across the stage while singing a rendition of "All I Want For Christmas" while missing her actual two front teeth.  She has been teaching children to be stars (and avoid her embarrassing mistake) since 2008.
Mrs. Wood allows herself to be completely engrossed every time she steps into the theatre whether she is there producing or consuming.  She is always completely overcome with the joy of her art.

Brittny Woods, Managing Director/Music & Dance
Picture
Brittny Woods has enjoyed performing since the age of five as a member of her grandfather’s church.  She has continued her love of music and performance through the study of choral music education and vocal performance at Armstrong State University where she earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree.  She also earned her Master of Music Education degree from the South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University in Anderson, SC.  Her performance experience includes:  Oklahoma (Ado Annie), Once On This Island (Ti Moune), The Last Five Years (Catherine), RENT (Joanne), and Avenue Q (Kate Monster).  Mrs. Woods has also choreographed many local productions including:  Once Upon A Mattress, Disney's Peter Pan Jr., Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Once On This Island Jr., and Into The Woods Jr.  Mrs. Woods currently serves as Choral Director at Oglethorpe Charter School in Savannah where she promotes student artistry, collectivism, and exploration through an enriching choral music curriculum.
